Bat Weather Vane

I'm a fan of early American Folk Art and primitive art, and love, of all things, weather vanes. Most traditional weather vanes have things like horses, cows and roosters atop the directional arrow. I have seen some funky ones with snakes. Here is my take on the weather vane that I made for a show, and to get myself into the Halloween spirit. This wouldn't go on top of a house or barn, but is a decoration meant to set on top of a table or mantle. It was fun to research bats and explore different bat designs through these little sketches. Final product at bottom.

Acrylic on Bass wood.

Cool bat. The design you used has a better look than the earlier one, which would be why you used it :-)
