Harter Country

We moved out to California after my wife and I got married so I could study character animation at CalArts. I ended up taking a job at Walt Disney Feature Animation. We decided to leave LA and move back to our hometown so I could begin working on my master's in Illustration at the nearby university. This was the illustration I created as a mailer to announce that we were "Moooving." We relocated to what was essentially the country, very rural, farms everywhere. I loved it. After living in LA for 5 years, it was a breath of fresh air. We ended up "moooving" back to L.A. after a year so I could work at Disney again, but we really enjoyed that year, hanging out with family and friends, and drawing cows.

Pastel on Canson paper, 16-1/4" by 13-3/4".

Hello,
I randomly stumbled upon your site by clicking that "Next Blog" button you can see on the top right corner. I was scrolling through to see if I could stumble upon a truly interesting blog and your picture stopped my happy clicking.
It's very beautiful. I love the bucolic posture of the cow.
Hope to see more.

In a nutshell, I loved it. I met some fantastic people, and It was great to be surrounded by peers and professionals from the industry who were loaded with talent and knowledge of the craft. Would reccomend to anyone who wanted to learn the art of animation.
